Dory Musselwhite is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Georgia. She is a Graduate Teaching Assistant, working primarily in educational and music psychology. She also serves as the instructor of Woodwind Methods, and as a practicum supervisor for students in the instrumental area.
Ms. Musselwhite received her baccalaureate and masters degrees in Music Education from The University of Georgia. She has studied conducting with John Lynch, Cynthia Johnston-Turner, and Robert Ambrose. She also studied flute with Angela Jones-Reus.
Ms. Musselwhite has served as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the Metropolitan Atlanta area. Prior to her current appointment, she taught in Gwinnett County for three years as Assistant Band Director and Director of Choral Activities at Central Gwinnett High School. In addition, she was an instructor of special education classes in mathematics. Before teaching in Gwinnett, she was the Band Director at North Whitfield Middle School in Dalton, Georgia, and also served as an Assistant Band Director at Northwest Whitfield High School.
Ms. Musselwhite maintains professional memberships with the Georgia Music Educators Association, the Society for Music Perception and Cognition, the American Educational Research Association, the National Bandmasters Association, and the National Association for Music Education. She is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Kappa Lambda.
