Graduate Teaching Assistant

Research Assistant for Dr. Brian Wesolowski


Instructor, MUSI 3420 (Woodwind Methods)

Instructed undergraduate introductory course on woodwind techniques. Students were given instruction on flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and saxophone, then given the opportunity to apply techniques learned by teaching mini-lessons to the class.


Instructor, MUSI 3150 (Undergraduate Practicum Experience)

Observed 10 practicum students as they taught large ensembles in the surrounding schools. Coached sessions on lesson planning, applying conceptual teaching in the rehearsal, applying for jobs, teacher certification, etc. Assisted in classroom instruction on teaching strategies and lesson/rehearsal planning. Coordinated placements of 18 students in practicum locations with expert music educators


Teaching Assistant, MUSI 5410/EMUS 8990 (Psychology of Music)

Assisted professor with class feedback and lectured on specific topics related to the Psychology of Music. Organized and collected necessary materials for class.


Instructor and Coordinator, Preservice Teacher Training Program

Coordinated and administered with the Clarke County Schools the UGA Elementary School Band Project. Music Education students were assigned to specific elementary schools for their preservice teacher education opportunities. Supervised the students’ individual lesson plans and teaching assignments, and provided feedback.


Supervisor, Student Teachers

Supervised the field experience of student teachers during their internship. Instructed the students in lesson plan design and observed their lessons and provided feedback.


Instructor and Coordinator, edTPA

Informed and trained music education students toward their successful understanding and implementation of the EdTPA assessment program. Supervised and guided each individual student in regards to their specific work and assignments.


Conductor, Symphonic Band

Invited to conduct on the Fall concert for Symphonic Band, including weekly rehearsals with the 100-member ensemble.


Conductor, UGA Basketball Band

Shared organizational and conducting responsibilities with Assistant Director of Athletic Bands for women’s NCAA basketball games. Worked consistently in communication with promotions team and athletics, including cheerleading and dance teams.


Staff Member, UGA Redcoat Marching Band

Served as an instructor for the 400-member Redcoat Marching Band as a drill technician, sectional coach and logistics assistant. Other duties included management of various public relations opportunities for the ensemble.


Administrative Assistant, UGA Midfest and Janfest

Annual Middle School Festival and January High School Festival for band programs across the state of Georgia. Duties as assigned were administrative.






Choral Director

Served as primary director for advanced and beginning choral ensembles as well small ensembles. Performed at numerous community events and graduation ceremonies.

Assistant Band Director

Assisted Director of Bands in administration and rehearsal of marching band; served as sponsor of colorguard; led woodwind sectionals; assisted in organization and execution of County Large Group Performance Evaluation.

Special Education

Instructor for Algebra I and Geometry special education students. Case manager for special education students.






Band Director

Instructed 6th grade beginning band through 8th grade band classes; 8th grade ensemble participated in Large Group Performance Evaluation. Commissioned a piece for middle school band during first year of teaching.

In addition, instructed an 8th grade boys general music class.

Other Instructional Duties

Directed School musical and play productions for 6th and 8th grade classes.

Taught Math and Earth Science for sixth grade students. Served as faculty Co-Sponsor of the Yearbook. Assisted with the Northwest Whitfield High School Band program.
